The Chuck Dorsey Award

This award is in honor and memory of Rev. Charles E. Dorsey.  Rev. Dorsey provided outstanding leadership and support for Habitat for Humanity for more than eight years. He was the first chair of the Board of Directors and acted as the Executive Director.

Through his leadership, more than 15 families became homeowners and Habitat hired its first construction manager. His dedication and devotion to Habitat for Humanity and to people in need continue to be felt throughout the community .

The Christine Guss Golden Heart Award

Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area is pleased to announce the creation of a new award for 2009.  This award recognizes women in the community who serve humanity with a whole heart and inspire others to reach for the stars!

The Golden Heart Award is named to honor the work done by Christine Guss for Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area. Christine faithfully served as our chapter’s Director of Development and was instrumental in expanding the work done in Harrisburg.

Christine was also responsible for furthering women’s causes and events for our Habitat including the Women Build which currently is building a new duplex home in the Allison Hill section of Harrisburg. Christine continues to donate her time and ideas to help Habitat for Humanity reach its goal of eliminating poverty housing.
