Golfers Hit the Course for Habitat

Funds raised to fight poverty housing in Central Pennsylvania

The 13th Annual Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area Golf Outing sponsored by MI Windows and Doors and Netrepid, was held Tuesday at the beautiful Hershey Links Golf Course.  Habitat for Humanity in Harrisburg is celebrating 25 years in the community this year and MI Windows and Doors continues to be the non-profit’s biggest supporter.

“Some say that 13 is an unlucky number.  For Habitat for Humanity it’s a lucky number and it was a lucky day.  The weather co-operated, a great group of golfers showed up and we raised money to improve the lives of families in our region,” said Habitat’s Director of Development, Mark Mattern. “We simply can not thank MI Wondows and Doors and Netrepid enough.”

At the end of the day, more than $70,000 was generated to help Habitat for Humanity’s work to end poverty housing here in Central PA.  Some 126 golfers participated in the outing, along with several volunteers.

MI Windows and Doors, a major player in the window industry and located in Gratz, Dauphin County, started the event and has been a part of the outing for 13 years. The company has raised more than 1.3 million dollars for Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area.

Netrepid joined the Habitat for Humanity Golf Outing for the first time last year.  Netrepid is located in Enola, and specializes in business and residential technology solutions and has been a supporter of Habitat for several years.
