The Golf Tradition Continues for Habitat
Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area will be teaming up with local partners again this year to present its 13th Annual Golf Outing to eliminate poverty housing here in Central Pennsylvania.
Along for the ride in the first 12 years, and again this summer, will be MI Window and Doors. MI has raised more than 1.2 million dollars for Habitat through this charitable event. Habitat will also welcome back Netrepid for a second straight year. MI Windows and Doors will host the morning event while Netrepid will be the major sponsor for the afternoon portion of the outing.
This year’s event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the beautiful Hershey Links Golf Course, part of the Hershey Country Club and is open to everyone.
“We can not say enough about what MI Windows and Doors means to Habitat for Humanity,” said Habitat’s Director of Development, Mark Mattern. “MI has been with us for 13 years now and has made this event a major fund raiser for us. Adding Netrepid to the mix last year, it just took this event to another level. We hope to grow our outing even more this year with increased local support.”
In 2010, Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area placed three new families into decent, affordable new homes and made repairs to 10 other homes to help keep families from becoming homeless. When the weather improves this year, Habitat will break ground on three new homes in Harrisburg’s uptown section and complete three rehabs at vacant homes for local, low-income families to purchase. With your help, we would like to help even more families in 2011 through our annual Golf Outing in Hershey, PA.
Area businesses can get involved through sponsorship packages which are explained on the registration form. Individual golfers and foursomes are also welcome.
