Clean-up Day Planned for Habitat
Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area will join forces with Harrisburg’s Clean Streets Project to help clean-up Harrisburg this weekend. The two groups will join forces for a community clean-up this Saturday morning (October 24, 2009) beginning at 9:00 A.M. Work will end at 1:00 P.M.
Habitat volunteers will provide the bulk of the clean-up crew and part of that group will consist of students from Susquehanna Township Senior High School. The plan calls for the entire group to meet at the Central Allison Hill Community Center, 1524 Walnut Street.
The group will then work in the area of central Allison Hill from 12th to 18th Streets and between Market and State Streets. Bags, gloves, and bottled water will be provided. However, donations of additional supplies are welcome and appreciated. Refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the event.
Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area is an ecumenical ministry that welcomes all people dedicated to the cause of eliminating poverty housing.
