Habitat for Humanity Schedules Two Homebuyers Workshops

Mandatory workshop is first step in becoming a homeowner

Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area has announced two Homebuyers Workshops scheduled for the end of September.  Attending the mandatory workshop is very important for anyone seeking to become a homeowner with Habitat for Humanity.

The Workshops are scheduled for Saturday, September 25th at 12 noon and Tuesday, September 28th at 6:30 PM.  Both workshops will be held at the Wesley Union AME Zion Church located at 2219 North 5th Street in Harrisburg.

These workshops will discuss the qualifications needed to partner with Habitat for Humanity on a simple, affordable, decent home.  Potential homeowners must demonstrate three criteria before being considered for the program.  The family must demonstrate a current need to escape poverty housing, the ability for the family to pay for a new home through sustained income and the future homeowner must show a willingness to partner with Habitat during the building process.

 Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical ministry that welcomes all people dedicated to the cause of eliminating poverty housing. Since its inception in 1986, the Harrisburg area affiliate has built nearly 60 houses, built 87 homes internationally and completed over 150 Home Repairs by providing simple, decent and affordable shelter with families in need.
