HARRISBURG AREA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY® BENEFITS
FROM LOCAL SURVEY PROJECT
Responses to Survey Yield Donations
HARRISBURG, PA. – While many companies have cut charitable contributions during tough economic times, HomeRite Windows and Doors has provided a unique opportunity for Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area to benefit from responses to a recent survey. As a result, the Harrisburg-based service provider of M.I. Windows and Doors has contributed $650 to the local Habitat affiliate.
“This donation will help Habitat for Humanity’s effort to complete new and critical repair projects currently under way in up-town Harrisburg,” explained Eve Wachhaus, Habitat’s executive director. “As we look toward next year, we will finish a new block of three homes and see three families lifted out of poverty housing. We are truly thankful to those survey respondents who participated, and to our valued business partner HomeRite.”
The contribution is the result of a survey conducted by HomeRite to gain insight into local homeowner attitudes regarding home remodeling and energy efficiency. Findings from the survey will be shared on HomeRite’s Facebook page in the next month. As an honorarium for answering a few online questions, a donation of $5 was made in each participant’s name to Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area. In addition to respondent honorariums for participation, HomeRite added a corporate donation bringing the total amount to $650.
An established supporter of the local cause, HomeRite has previously donated window installation services for Habitat construction projects. “This is the kind of effort we are best equipped to support,” shared Andy Matter of HomeRite. “We value their work in our community, and want to support them wherever possible.”
