Donation Made to Habitat by M&T Bank

Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area announced that long-time supporter, M&T Bank, has made a donation of $3,000 to the non-profit’s operating funds.  The check presentation took place Tuesday at a Habitat for Humanity construction site in the city of Harrisburg.

M&T representatives, Gail D’Angelo, Regional CRA Officer and Tracy Miller, Vice President, Senior Branch Manager, made the donation to Habitat’s Executive Director Eve Wachhaus.

“We celebrate our 25th year in the community this year and I can’t think of a more reliable friend than M&T Bank,” said Wachhaus at the ceremony. “M&T Bank has been involved with countless events here at Habitat for Humanity.  We are grateful for their commitment to our local community, low-income families and the need for affordable homes.”

The donation to Habitat for Humanity was made through the M&T Bank Charitable Foundation which supports a diverse range of civic, cultural, education, health care, human services and youth organizations with financial grants, volunteerism and in-kind services.

Wachhaus says that this donation from M&T Bank will be used to help with operating expenses with Habitat for Humanity’s Critical Home Repair Program.  This program has completed more than 160 projects throughout Central PA, helping keep homeowners in their homes.

“Our support of this program just makes sense to everyone,” said D’Angelo.  “Keeping homeowners in their properties and avoiding homelessness will always be a goal of M&T Bank.  Especially this time of year, everyone should have a safe place to call home.”
