Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area

Door to Door…Art Answers the Knock of Community….27 vintage doors painted by local artists benefiting Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area.

Collector quality pieces of art created from vintage doors!  The colorful and unique doors are now on view in a gallery at Strawberry Square. The doors are available for sponsorship and will be silent auctioned at Gallery Walk, September 9th.   This is an exciting way for artists, art collectors, community leaders and area residents to own original, top quality art while at the same time supporting Habitat for Humanity’s mission of eliminating poverty housing in Harrisburg.

This silent auction will raise funds for the on-going work of Habitat for Humanity in partnership with deserving families. Habitat is not a give-away program.  Deserving partner families purchase the homes from Habitat at a zero percent loan.

The partnership formed between Habitat and Harristown Development Corporation allows for Gallery Walk attendees to see art for a cause.  “We are delighted at the support shown by Harristown Development Corporation,” remarks Eve Wachhaus, Executive Director, of Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area. “This event would not have been possible without their display of generosity and concern for the community.”

The gallery will remain on view until Gallery Walk, September 9th.
